Operating principle:
The system is installed on a
Web server to which the various
actors connect themselves.
The Sellers:
Internet users who wish to sell a product by auction.
The Buyers:
Internet users who are liable to buy
goods that are sold by auction.
The auctioneer:
He is the auction sale coordinator in real time.
The site Administrator:
He can activate the server remotely and control the whole
system.
The sales Administrator:
He organises and manages the lot by
lot sale in real time.
Two types of sale are proposed:
Lot by lot sales ''in real time'' and sales
by tender.
This system can be autonomous or connected to
an auction room.
Sales by lot in real time:
Lot by lot selling in real time (as in an auction room)
makes it possible to have several potential buyers that are connected
at the same time compete for a given lot. The on line buyer has
a few dozen seconds to a few minutes to bid and become owner of
the lot, if he holds his position and remains the last bidder.
With our technology, response time on the Internet is a few tenths
of a second.
Real time lot by lot sales operating principle

THE AUCTIONEER
The auctioneer coordinates the sale. He can
:
- Start or terminate the sale
- Modify the upset price of the products
- Modify the order of presentation of the products
- Display the connected clients
- Knock the sale down
- Characterise the products (sold or unsold)
|
The
enrichment button turns red when the buyer has made the
highest offer.
He
becomes the provisional owner until the next bid.
|
|
If
no one makes a higher bid on his offer before the end
of the count, he becomes the final owner of the lot.
|
THE
BUYERS
The buyers who wish to take part
in the auction sale may:
-
Access the sale in real time
following identification
-
View the offered products
in detail
-
Gradually make higher bids
on a product
-
Start automatic bid increases
-
View his purchases in the
course of or at the end of the sale.
This
sale may last a few hours to a few days.
During
this period the identified and authorised buyers can bid on a
list of lots that they have previously selected. When one of them
has bidded on a lot, all clients connected to the sale at that
time will have their screen instantaneously updated with the new
values.

SOME
TECHNICAL DATA ON THE APPLICATION
Light Client/Server type Architecture.
Relational and generic data bases
that make possible sales of all types of products. Dynamic management
of connections on relational data bases. ''Real time'' communication
core: very fast Client/server Communication, selective refreshing
of HTML pages by notification. (response time is a few seconds).
Management of a virtual basket (display of the client's purchases,
of a sale's figure) Security (firewall, authentification servlets,
SSL type data encryption.
Possibility of integrating a secure
payment system. Remote site administration (graphic chart, texts,
fonts). Communication protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP(S).
